SUTERA BIDADARI -Ramlee Awang Mursyid

1. Sebuah novel terbaru daripada novelis prolifik Alaf 21, Ramlee Awang Murshid. Merupakan sambungan dari kisah Laksamana Sunan pada novel-novel beliau sebelum ini.

2. Antara novel yang mendapat sambutan hangat di pesta buku 2011 yang berlangsung baru-baru ini di PWTC.

3. Apa lagi yang hendak pembaca katakan terhadap novel RAM ini? Mendebarkan, membuat pembaca tertanya-tanya, kejutan yang tak terduga, mainan masa yang kemas, plot yang mengujakan, watak yang pelbagai, penceritaan yang bersahaja, penuh drama.

4. Mungkin keterlaluan memuji pula dengarnya. Tapi begitulah yang dirasa apabila membaca Sutera Bidadari ini. Ya, barangkali ada juga jalan ceritanya yang telah dapat diduga, kejutan yang tak terkejut lagi, klise-klise yang biasa terdapat dalam novel RAM sebelum ini, tetapi semua itu hilang apabila saya, sebagai pembaca, dibawa masuk RAM ke dalam dunia imaginasinya yang sungguh tinggi.

5. Sutera Bidadari mengisahkan mengenai Laksamana Sunan yang mengembara ke Negeri Atas Angin untuk memburu Taghut. Wakil dari dunia kejahatan yang sering melakukan kedurjanaan. Pengembaraan Laksamana Sunan ini berlaku pada tahun 1511 dengan ditemani oleh beberapa orang rakannya yang setia.

6. Selain 1511, Sutera Bidadari juga membawa pembaca ke abad 21 dengan memaparkan kisah Saifullah yang diamanahkan untuk menjaga Keris Nanggroe dan Catatan Maryam yang telah disimpan sejak dari tahun 1511 lagi.

7. Kemahiran RAM bercerita sambil bermain dengan faktor masa sangat dikagumi. Beliau berkisah dalam dua dimensi yang berbeza, dengan latar dan juga watak yang berbeza, yang semuanya terikat pada watak utamanya, Laksamana Sunan, yang diuraikan pada pengakhiran novel.

8. Jika watak Laksamana Sunan pada tahun 1511 dilihatkan dalam pengembaraannya, watak Saifullah pula mewakili abad kini, yang memburu kejahatan dengan menjadikan Keris Nanggroe dan Catatan Maryam sebagai umpan menjejaki Vlad The Impaler.

9. Sebagai pembaca yang telah sering membaca novel-novel RAM, saya tentunya mengharapkan sesuatu yang lain dari novel-novel beliau sebelum ini. Sesuatu yang bersifat lebih mencabar daya kemampuan membaca pembaca. Dan, walaupun tidak keseluruhannya, Sutera Bidadari tetap menawarkan kelainan dan memerlukan daya tumpuan yang tidak sedikit untuk mengikuti setiap penceritaannya.

10. Sekalung tahniah buat RAM yang berjaya membuat imaginasi saya terbuai-buai melalui adegan-adegan yang dipaparkan. Bertanya-tanya, tiadakah penerbit-penerbit filem yang mahu membawa salah satu novel RAM ke layar perak?

11. Sedikit yang mengecewakan saya, apabila RAM sekali lagi menggantungkan novelnya di akhir bab. Tiada simpulan mati yang diberikan di dalam Sutera Bidadari ini melainkan potongan tali yang sengaja digantung, yang mana harus disambungkan semula buat memperkemaskan perjalanannya.

12. Ini seakan memberi andaian bahawa akan terdapat sambungan lagi untuk kisah Laksamana Sunan ini. Bukan tak setuju ia disambung lagi, tetapi saya berasakan sudah terlalu panjang dan lama kisah Sunan ini diceritakan, masih belum bertemu penamatnya. Cukuplah, jika berlebihan risau akan membosankan pula.

13. Novel ini boleh didapati dengan harga RM 22.00. Sudah dinaikkan sedikit harganya. Jika sebelum ini novel-novel RAM terbitan Alaf 21 rata-ratanya berharga RM 19.90 tetapi untuk Sutera Bidadari ini agak tinggi dari biasa sikit. Kenapa terdapat kenaikan, itu kena ditanya sendiri kepada Alaf 21.

14. Secara keseluruhan Sutera Bidadari ini menarik bagi saya. Kecuali penamatnya yang tidak ditamatkan setamat-tamatnya. Ditanya mengenai novel terbaru, RAM menjawab, "Fiksyen 302."
